Aerial Drones
Ukraine plans to procure 150,000 middle-strike drones through tenders. Each brigade will receive a predictable monthly supply of drones, including ground robotic systems, which should help improve planning.
Ukraine’s General Cherry developed a Sweetheart reconnaissance drone capable of flying up to 150 km into enemy territory. Its feature is acoustic stealth.
During one of Russia’s recent attacks, General Cherry's production facility was damaged.
Following the introduction of Starlink restrictions, Russia reduced its use of BM-35 and BM-39 strike drones. These drones occupied an intermediate niche between tactical-level FPV drones/Molniya-type UAVs and strategic-level systems such as Shaheds. They were used to strike Ukrainian rear positions, airfields, and cities.
