Despite my busy schedule and attending the CANSEC trade show in Canada, the 2-page Ukraine Drone Brief is delivered as promised. If anything, I drew a lot of inspiration from the people I met in Ottawa, so I’m happy to return to my reporting with a fresh mind and renewed motivation. In this edition, you will find interesting news on a record-breaking FPV drone mission and new cooperation agreements between Ukraine and its partners.
If you are new to my newsletter, you can check my Ukraine Drone Brief 1st and 2nd editions to see whether this type of reporting is useful for you.
Also, explore my Topic Navigator, where all my newsletters and sections are organized by theme and clearly marked to show which content is free and which is reserved for paying subscribers.

Ukraine is launching the “Logistics Lockdown” program to scale up strikes against Russian logistics and has allocated approximately USD 120 million directly to military units for the procurement of middle-strike systems.
In the first months of 2026, Ukraine contracted five times more middle-strike drones than during all of the previous year - MoD. Joint production projects are being established with Germany and Norway.
Russian channels are discussing Ukraine’s alleged use of a new tactic: launching strike UAVs on free-drifting balloons deep into Russian territory. Advisor to Ukraine’s Defence Minister, Serhiy FLASH noted that free-drifting balloons have long been tested in this war for various tasks and are not a new concept.
